Something has been calling me.
Not many people know this, but I very nearly decided to attend a seminary school for high school and become a priest. The calling to minister to those in need has been in me for as long as I can remember, which may explain a lot of choices in my life that turned out badly. Perhaps psychology or social work would have been better career choices for me than joining the Navy, but choices made are made.
Obviously, I am not priestly material. I'm not even Christian any more. However, the calling is still there. It was there when I was working with the Youth Groups through the UU church I first attended back home, and continues to pull.
I have begun considering, very seriously, investigating the possibility of becoming a minister in the UU church. I feel so at home there already, and I want to share that with everyone. This may well be the way for me to find meaning and truth in my life.
