The knight with his lance, the hero with his sword,
They slay the dragon once, they claim their reward.
But the serpent still survives,
And extinguishes their lives,
And he broods o'er the maiden as he sits upon his hoard.
She is beautiful, alluring, she's the damsel in distress.
In the prison with the dragon, she abides with tattered dress,
So abandoned, so alone,
'Neath the wyrm upon his throne,
She is haunted by her captivation with his ugliness.
At intervals a savior comes and saves her from the beast.
He takes her in, protects her, he lays her out a feast.
But, addicted to her pain,
She makes him what he's slain,
And dragon stands anew where fallen knight now lies, deceased.

The Dragon Slayers
Re: The Dragon Slayers
Can I ask for details on why, if you can pin it down? I always like knowing specifically what I'm doing right, and how other people interpret my writing.
