I dreamed you, last night,
Were soft and yielding, no matter how hard my head
That you held as I leaned against you.
You gave me comfort, and filled my arms when I was lonely.
I dreamed you, last night,
Enfolded me in your warm embrace
When sleep wouldn't come.
I felt secure with you around me,
And the weight of you on my chest.
I panicked when I woke
Unable to breathe, my face buried in the pillow
Suffocating me.
My arms were fouled in my blanket; I couldn't move
Nor feel my legs, because the sheet had become tangled
And cut off circulation.
I wished that I could be asleep again,
Even for five more minutes.
