As of last night, I am the proud rider of a Drake of the North Wind. This more than makes up for 1) losing the chaos orb and 2) no volatile air at all dropping for me in VP.
Heroic Vortex Pinnacle. I am fail at avoiding Static Cling. The PUG tank was waaaaay too fast, had no eye for caster mana, wouldn't even wait for healer. When the mount dropped, and I won (with a roll of 91 to someone else's 91 also), there was some gnashing of teeth. The healer was the other 91, and stopped moving while everyone else ran up the ramp; I stopped and waited for the healer, because that's what you do, and the tank sure wasn't doing it. Didn't matter that healer's reason was to make screen-caps and whinge to Blizz about being cheated on the tie roll. (What did this player expect, that for a tie roll Blizz should duplicate the mount and award two? I thought it was a settled fact and everyone knew about the internal tie-breaker roll that isn't shown.)
I rolled on the Chaos Orb at the end anyway, because that's really why I was on my third random H of the night. I have the dreamcloth pattern but not the 5 orbs, and I'm trying to get them. As mentioned above, I lost that roll. Who won?
