Distant and distorted, through a glass all dark and twisted,
Life appears through eyes stigmatic, glasses smeared and misted.
Yesterday's no longer clear.
I've forgotten last month's fear.
All the pain of yesteryear is easily resisted.
Sitting in the darkness of a mind that's foul and faded,
Wondering how long it's been since I've become so jaded,
Suddenly I realize
Underneath the clouded skies,
I have never had the eyes to see how fate is braided.
All that happens, happens, for a fate's a cruel master,
Waiting as we live our lives and die, and ever faster.
Each of us, we bear our shame,
Bear our portion of the blame,
Seek our truths and make our name, and always waits disaster.
Life appears through eyes stigmatic, glasses smeared and misted.
Yesterday's no longer clear.
I've forgotten last month's fear.
All the pain of yesteryear is easily resisted.
